Mentoring Program

The focus of mentoring at Aurora College is to encourage self-confidence and resilience in our students, to broaden their awareness of opportunities, and to enhance their career planning and long-term academic outcomes.

Benefits of being a mentor

Qualities of a mentor

A mentor is ideally someone who:

  • is willing to invest time in the mentoring relationship
  • is reliable
  • shows sensitivity and understanding
  • has significant experience and expertise in their field
  • demonstrates good communication skills
  • models respect for alternative views and cultures
  • has good listening skills
  • is able to relate positively in a supportive manner
  • recognises when they need to call for assistance
